U 
ULNA:
One of the two bones of the forearm, it has a large articulation with the distal humerus and protudes posteriorly as the olecranon process.

UNCINATE PROCESS:
Literally a "hook". For the ethmoid bone, a plate of bone down and to the back from the anterior portion of the ethmoid labyrinth.

The left and caudal portion of the head of the pancreas that "hooks" around.

URETER:
A fibromuscular tube that transport urine from the collecting pelvis of the kidney to the base of the bladder, via a "stripping-wave" type of peristalsis.

URETHRA:
A membraneous canal used in the transportion of urine from the bladder to the outside.

UROGRAM (Intra Venous Urogram or IVU):
An imaging study to look at the structure and function of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Also called an IVU - intravenous urogram. This test requires the injection of a *contrast agent*.
