UNCINATE PROCESS: Literally a "hook". For the ethmoid bone, a plate of bone down and to the back from the anterior portion of the ethmoid labyrinth.

URETER: A fibromuscular tube that transport urine from the collecting pelvis of the kidney to the base of the bladder, via a "stripping-wave" type of peristalsis.

URETHRA: A membraneous canal used in the transportion of urine from the bladder to the outside.

UROGRAM (Intra Venous Urogram or IVU): An imaging study to look at the structure and function of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Also called an IVU - intravenous urogram. This test requires the injection of a *contrast agent*.
